A charity organization in Reading seeks a Maintenance & Compliance Manager to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation for its properties. The ideal candidate will have experience in building management, oversee a maintenance team, and be knowledgeable in statutory requirements. This role offers a full-time position with competitive benefits, including a pension contribution.
Full Time - 37 hours per week
7% employer pension contribution, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
Based in central Reading, Launchpad provides vital information and support for vulnerable individuals, couples and families in Reading who do not have a stable place to live or are at risk of losing their home. Founded as a soup kitchen in 1979 by students at the University of Reading, the charity now provides a holistic service that works in three ways – we prevent homelessness, provide homes and rebuild lives.
As our Maintenance & Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for the statutory compliance, health and safety risk management of Launchpad Reading property ensuring 100% compliance with all health and safety legislation and best practice. Responsible for the delivery of the repairs and maintenance service. Ensuring that robust monitoring, reporting, and forecasting systems are in place and data is kept updated.
You will ideally have experience in either building or facilities management and will have had oversight of repairs and maintenance and have the experience and confidence in managing our inhouse maintenance team as well as contractors. You will also enjoy supporting the team on the ground, have a flexible working style and able to prioritise your workload effectively, being reactive and proactive. You will have high standards in terms of Health & Safety and quality of workmanship, and ensure all property meets the regulatory standards.
