Maintenance Carpenter (University Campus)

£30,000 - £40,000 + £2,750 on‑call allowance + Overtime + Excellent Benefits

36 hours per week * Days‑based * Reading

The Role

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance carpentry across university buildings
• Install and repair doors, ironmongery, access control and fire‑release mechanisms
• Fit kitchen units, worktops and internal joinery as required
• Support heritage‑listed building works and small improvement projects
• Provide estimates, material lists and technical input to the wider team
• Join the estates on‑call rota (approx. 1 in 4‑5 weekends) with paid allowance + overtime

You’ll Need

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Carpentry / Joinery (essential)
• Skilled in building fabric repairs, fixings, door sets and internal carpentry
• Competent using woodworking machinery and hand tools
• Reliable, organised and comfortable working independently on a large estate
• Full UK driving licence
• Willing to join on‑call rota
