Maintenance Carpenter

Location: Knutsford, WA16 9EU

Hours of work: 40

Contract Type: Permanent

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Carpenter to join the onsite maintenance team at Radbroke Hall. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality fabric maintenance across a large, high‑spec commercial campus, supporting both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repair activity.

Job Description

You will undertake a wide range of fabric maintenance tasks including building fabric repairs (doors, hinges, flooring, ceilings, walls, furniture), basic plumbing duties (flow checks, unblocking, minor fixes), minor installation work and general site support. You will also assist with basic electrical tasks such as emergency lighting checks and lamp replacements. This is a hands‑on role requiring excellent attention to detail, strong customer service, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a live commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond promptly to fabric‑related helpdesk requests and onsite issues.
  • Complete PPM tasks in line with schedules and site requirements.
  • Carry out surveys, record findings, and identify materials required for small works.
  • Keep accurate records and update onsite reporting systems.
  • Assist other trades where required and provide cover during absences.
  • Ensure tools and equipment remain safe, serviceable and in good condition.
  • Occasional requirement to support other client sites in Manchester, Northwich & Liverpool.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
  • Proven experience in building fabric maintenance within commercial environments.
  • A trade background in carpentry & joinery (essential)
  • Strong competency across general building services and fabric repair tasks.
  • Confident using tablets or electronic maintenance systems.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • PASMA or IPAF certification or happy to go through additional training.
