Job summary

Barchester Healthcare is seeking a Maintenance Assistant for one of our care homes in Salisbury. You will help keep the building and grounds safe, tidy and welcoming for residents and visitors.

You'll apply practical maintenance skills across a range of tasks, bring reliability and a caring approach, and work as part of a team dedicated to quality care. This role offers training, a supportive environment, and the opportunity to make a positive impact daily.

Qualifications

• Experience in property maintenance or facilities upkeep.
• Demonstrates patient, caring attitude towards residents.
• Reliable, flexible, and hands-on with a can-do approach.

Responsibilities

• Maintain building and grounds to high standards to welcome residents and visitors.
• Assist with day-to-day maintenance tasks across trades as needed.
• Support safety, cleanliness and ongoing upkeep of the home.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Maintenance Assistant at a Barchester care home, you'll help to create the safe and attractive surroundings that enable us to give our residents the quality care and support they deserve. It's important that our homes give the right first impression and that every area is always well-maintained. The role of Maintenance Assistant offers plenty of variety as you'll undertake a range of tasks to make sure our building and grounds are at their best all day, every day.

ABOUT YOU

You'll need some experience of property maintenance to join us as a Maintenance Assistant. We'll also want to see a patient, caring nature and a genuine interest in our residents. As well as that, you should be reliable and ready to turn your hand to a range of tasks all focused on keeping the home maintained to the highest standards.
