Job summary

SGS is seeking a Maintenance Assistant for an initial 6‑month contract based in Westhill, near Aberdeen. The role requires semi-skilled mechanical experience, with duties including operating breakout machines, forklift operation, mechanical lifting and pressure-related tasks.

Working hours are about 37.5 per week, five days, with a start at the end of October. The candidate will maintain equipment per the maintenance program and contribute to on-time delivery and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications

• Semi-skilled mechanical experience preferred.
• Mechanical/technical minded with practical aptitude.
• Forklift operation knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance activities per the Maintenance Program.
• Ensure on-time delivery of equipment according to demand.

Our Client are looking for a Maintenance Assistant for an initial 6 months contract in Westhill to start at the end of October

The roles require semi-skilled mechanical experience, with duties including:

• Operating breakout machines
• Forklift operation
• Mechanical lifting
• Pressure operations

Candidates should be local to Aberdeen. The role is five days per week during normal working hours, approximately 37.5 hours per week.

Rate: £15/h

Duration: 6 months initial contract with possibility to extend depending on performance.

The Maintenance Associate is responsible to perform maintenance activities per the Maintenance Program and ensure on-time delivery of equipment in accordance with operational demand.

The Maintenance Associate supports initiatives to improve the maintenance-related Cost of Service Delivery (CoSD), Maintenance Efficiency, People Productivity, and Asset Availability within the Center of Reliability and Efficiency (CRE) or Maintenance Base (MB), or Maintenance Center.

• Under direct supervision of either a Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Technician, perform assigned higher-level maintenance activities.
• Adhere to transactional discipline within Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) business systems, accurately capturing maintenance related data.
• Comply with the Company and respective division TLM standards.
• Maintain and build competency in compliance with the TLM Competency Management System.
• Participate in and support continuous improvement (CI) initiatives
