Job summary

A regional healthcare trust in Stoke-on-Trent seeks a Maintenance Operative to perform essential maintenance tasks, ensure safety standards, and contribute to a sustainability programme. Job description
Responsibilities
  1. Carry out minor reactive maintenance works within the limits of own skills and experience to ensure the safety and security of the Trust's premises, patients, staff and visitors.
  2. Carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks and cleaning duties on plant, equipment and services, including, but not limited to:
    • Fire alarm testing
    • Emergency lighting testing
    • Legionella preventative tests
    • Plant room checks
    • Building fabric and finishes
    • Drainage and gutters
  3. Assist trades colleagues with installation and maintenance work as required.
  4. Carry out meter readings and surveys on gas, electric and water mains services etc.
  5. Complete records of all tasks and checks carried out and report any faults to the Estates Manager.
  6. Carry out manual duties to assist maintenance operations, including but not limited to:
    • Light digging
    • Moving/loading of boxes, parcels, parts and equipment where the use of lifting equipment is not required
    • Transportation of tools and materials to site areas
  7. Work at height from scaffold platforms, ladders or mechanical equipment when required.
  8. Wash down areas and equipment following maintenance work to meet required hygiene standards.
  9. Ensure safe working practices are implemented at all times, including correct use of PPE and adherence to health and safety and infection control procedures. Make the Estates Manager aware of any health and safety concerns.
