Elysium Healthcare Limited is hiring a Maintenance Assistant at The Farndon Unit, Newark. You will help keep buildings, facilities and equipment safe and well-presented, performing general maintenance, decorating and on-call duties as part of a dedicated team.

Join The Farndon Unit in Newark as a Maintenance Assistant where you will be part of creating a well- presented and safe environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society.

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the services facilities are fit for purpose, gardening and will regularly conduct audits to identify and repair any faults ensuring a safe environment for service users, staff and visitors.

Working alongside an established team, you will turn your hand to all maintenance-related tasks, liaising with contractors to support the upkeep of the service.

You'll receive all necessary training to get you started and join the dedicated team, where you can make a positive difference and be part of changing lives for the better. This is a 6 Month fixed term position.

As a Maintenance Assistant you will be:

• Assisting with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment requirements are maintained and fit for purpose.
• Utilising good DIY skills to ensure safety of service users is maintained
• Assisting in regular checks and maintenance
• Assisting in the repair and maintenance of all buildings
• Assisting in all decorating
• Liaising with a manager reporting all faults and defects
• Participating in a 1 week retaining on-call rota for the purposes of emergency maintenance
• Coordinating and supporting contractors whilst on site and completing of all paperwork and tool checks

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Comply with system and procedures
• Have previous experience within a maintenance role
• Work effectively as part of a team and independently
• Show courtesy and respect to residents at all times to ensure that they enjoy the highest quality of service
• Attend and participate in training sessions and staff meetings

Where you will be working:

Location: The Farndon Unit, Farndon Road, Newark, Nottinghamshire, NG24 4SW

You will be working at the Farndon Unit, a purpose-built low secure hospital that offers personalised assessment and recovery-based treatment pathways, including a trauma-specific pathway, for women with complex care needs.

You will join the multidisciplinary team in providing specialist care for people with a diagnosis of severe and enduring Mental Health illness and/or Personality Disorder and/or mild Learning Disability.

The combination of general low secure wards and a recovery ward area (also within the low secure perimeter) provide a seamless internal care pathway supporting and empowering recovery and rehabilitation.
