Job summary

Cinnamon in Leicester is recruiting for a Maintenance Assistant on a part-time basis (24 hours a week) at £13.49 per hour. The role supports the Maintenance Manager to keep the home safe, comfortable and well-maintained for residents in a luxury care setting.

You will assist with day-to-day repairs, respond to maintenance requests, and help ensure standards and cleanliness. Weekend work may be required, and prior maintenance/handyman skills are beneficial.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance and repair tasks within a care home or similar environment.
• Reliability, hardworking attitude and flexibility in working hours.
• Ability to respond promptly to maintenance requests and safety concerns.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day maintenance of the home, completing faults and repairs within capability and guidelines.
• Support heads of departments to identify areas needing alteration or improvement and perform preventative maintenance.
• Ensure maintenance standards are met across the home.
• Respond to maintenance requests and concerns in a timely manner using the log/system.
• Take receipt of deliveries and store maintenance items responsibly.
• Keep allocated machinery safe and in working order.

Thurnby Fieldsis a luxurious residential and dementia care home based in Leicester, offering state-of-the-art facilities, which include 73 large en-suite bedroomsand 10luxury care suites. The home also features luxurious lounges and dining rooms, an on-site café bar, a cinema and a professional hair and beauty salon.

The main function of this role is to support and assist the Maintenance Manager in maintaining all areas within the home on a daily basis. The Maintenance Assistant’s primary responsibility is to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for the residents. This person is a hands-on team player with sound organisational skills. The Maintenance Assistant interacts positively with all team members, maintaining census by immediately preparing vacant rooms for new residents, and by responding to and resolving concerns promptly.

You will need to reliable and hard working in this role – flexible in required working hours is essential and may include some weekend working.

Ideally experience in general maintenance, plumbing, painting and decorating, carpentry would be beneficial.

Main Responsibilities

1. Assist in the day-to-day maintenance of the home including any faults or repairs which may need to be corrected within your capability and company guidelines.
2. Give support to all heads of departments in looking at areas that may need altering or improving and perform all preventative maintenance tasks to the best of your ability.
3. Ensure that the home is kept to the agreed maintenance standards.
4. Respond in a timely manner to all maintenance requests and concerns raised by residents, family members and team members according to the homes reporting maintenance request log or system.
5. Take receipt of deliveries and store items or good pertaining to maintenance.
6. Ensure that all allocated machinery is kept safe and in working order.
