Job Description:

We require a full-time (39 hours - 9am to 6pm Monday to Thursday, 9am to 5pm Friday) Maintenance Assistant to join our team in Bury.

We are seeking someone with problem-solving skills, a desire to learn, and ambition to develop within maintenance. You will receive training and mentorship to enhance your knowledge of our specific systems and processes, and to quickly understand our requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a safe working environment at all times.
  • Support production and warehouse teams with breakdowns.
  • Maintain the facility and plant according to schedule.
  • Ensure good administration practices, including using company-specific ERPs and computer systems.
  • Carry out PAT testing.
  • Maintain stock levels of critical parts for the plant.
  • Shadow Maintenance Engineers to learn processes and procedures.
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Current FLT license (training available if needed).
  • Good communication skills and effective time management.
  • Problem-solving attitude and proactive approach.
  • Technical knowledge, ideally studying or planning to study towards a Level 2 qualification.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Interest and understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Calm, approachable, punctual, and professional demeanor.
  • Solution-focused mindset to resolve queries confidently.
  • Flexibility and understanding.
  • Respectful and courteous to colleagues.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
