Job summary

Heeton Concept Hotels in Edinburgh is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep Stewart Aparthotel running smoothly, handling repairs and forward planning to ensure guest experiences meet our high standards. You will approach every task with devotion and pride, supporting staff and guests alike while maintaining a smart, approachable appearance.

The role requires prior maintenance experience, working knowledge of basic plumbing and electrics, and fluent English.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar maintenance role.
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrics and preventive maintenance.
• Must speak fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Repair or replace items around the hotel and refurbish guest rooms.
• Organise supplies and ensure equipment is ready for the next day.
• Follow safety guidelines and report incidents or unsafe conditions.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of areas inside and outside the aparthotel.
• Identify improvements and keep systems running efficiently.
• Assist guests and be a friendly face for the team.
• Keep supervisor informed about stock levels and maintenance needs.
• Look smart in uniform and be ready for extra duties.

Job description

Keeping our Aparthotel running smoothly is vital to our guest's experience – as Maintenance Assistant you’ll keep everything looking sharp and running like clockwork. From simple repairs to forward-thinking for the next day. With naturally high standards to support our own, you’ll approach every task with devotion and pride.

Your day-to-day

• Repair or replace items around the hotel and refurbish items in guest rooms. By keeping on top of these tasks, you’ll keep Stewart Aparthotel looking great and working well.
• Organise supplies and make sure equipment is ready for the next day
• Live up to high safety standards – follow guidelines and tell your manager about any incidents, dangerous conditions or unsafe equipment
• Take responsibility for the safety and cleanliness of areas inside and outside the aparthotel including the car park
• Always keep an eye out for improvements – follow the preventative maintenance calendar and keep everything working and efficient at all times
• Be a friendly face and helping hand to our guests
• Keep your supervisor or duty manager in the loop and tell them about any low running supplies
• Look smart and approachable in your uniform
• Be ready to take on extra duties as and when the team needs you
• Preparing and painting surfaces with the aparthotel

What we need from you

• Experience working in a similar maintenance role
• On top of building equipment and hand tools, you’ll have a working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrics and preventative maintenance procedures.
• Must speak fluent English.
