A UK-based care and support organization is seeking a Maintenance & Grounds Manager. This role involves overseeing the maintenance and grounds team, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and managing contractors effectively. We are looking to appoint a Maintenance & Grounds Manager. This role is based at Hesley Hall but you will be expected to travel around the different sites within Hesley Group. The Maintenance and Grounds Manager is the lead person for the Maintenance and Grounds sub department within the Estate and Facilities function. The role primarily involves responsibility for the maintenance & grounds team, and delegating works and responsibilities to the Supervisors and Operatives. You will ensure homes and buildings are refurbished to a high standard whilst managing contractors in a safe and controlled way adhering to Contractor (Design and Management) Management 2015 Regulations and take a lead role in our compliance to legislation including Fire and Legionella and ensure checks and servicing are completed within agreed timeframes. Working hours and days will be Monday - Friday 8am - 4.30pm plus the occasional weekend as required.
The successful candidate must know how and when to perform tasks related to garden and grounds development and maintenance safely and effectively. You must also have knowledge of Health and Safety requirements in the workplace, including risk assessments, Fire Safety and Legionella Regulations. This role involves managing your own time and multiple tasks effectively, working autonomously and using your own initiative while working flexibly to meet requirements of the role. You will be expected to communicate effectively, including completing manual and electronic reports as well as plan and chair meetings. Confidentiality must be maintained to appropriate levels. You must have no criminal record including convictions, cautions, reprimands, bindings over or warnings which may be relevant to the safety and welfare of people who use our services or staff.
