Job summary

Barnet and Southgate College invites applications for a Main Grade Lecturer in Chemistry at 0.7FTE. The role involves teaching learners aged 16+ across BTEC, T Level and Access programmes at Barnet Campus (Wood Street) and contributing to student success within a dynamic science team.

The successful candidate will act as a personal tutor, monitor attendance, liaise with parents/guardians and other agencies, and may take course leadership responsibilities within the science department.

Qualifications

• Teaching chemistry and related science subjects to 16+ learners.
• Experience across FE/HE would be advantageous.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

Come and join our amazing Science department!

We are looking for motivated individuals who are passionate and enthusiastic about teaching and learning to work within our science team.

The roles will require individuals with knowledge and skills in some of the following subject areas: chemistry and biology etc. who are looking to work within both the FE and HE sector.

The post will require teaching learners of all ages 16+ and on various qualifications such as BTEC, T/ level and Access programmes. The individuals will be working within a dynamic team and will support and help the team develop and grow. The individuals will have excellent organisational skills, classroom management and time management skills.

The individuals will be a personal tutor which will involving the monitoring of attendance, liaising with parents/guardians and other agencies in addition to other duties. The individual will have course leadership responsibilities as they will be required to course manage science department.
