Job summary

Qube Research & Technologies (QRT) is seeking a data-focused professional to join the data science and engineering team. You will work at the intersection of financial markets, data science and engineering, supporting discovery, evaluation and integration of financial datasets used across research and trading.

Qualifications

• Strong Python programming skills with data analysis libraries.
• Experience with Pandas/NumPy for data manipulation.
• Proficiency in SQL and handling structured financial datasets.
• Experience building data pipelines and data workflows.
• Understanding of data quality, validation and cross-source consistency.
• Ability to communicate with quantitative researchers and traders.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with researchers and traders to understand data needs.
• Evaluate datasets and vendor offerings for coverage and quality.
• Onboard new datasets with a focus on macro markets (rates, bonds, derivatives).
• Engage with external data providers to assess APIs and delivery mechanisms.
• Develop Python tools to extract, clean, normalize and analyse financial data.
• Investigate discrepancies across data sources and identifiers.
• Maintain and improve data quality and coverage of existing datasets.
• Collaborate with engineers to automate data ingestion and integration.
