New Appointments Group Ltd is seeking a reliable Machine Operative in Ashford for a busy workshop. The role focuses on machining and preparing materials for manufacturing and welding processes. This is a hands-on role with emphasis on health and safety.

The position runs Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.30pm, offering a temporary-to-permanent opportunity for trainees and experienced operators, with training on bandsaws, pillar drills, and punch presses.

Qualifications

• Experience in workshop/manufacturing is advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings; training available.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Physically fit for a hands-on manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to learn new skills.

Responsabilités

• Operate workshop machinery to machine and prepare materials to a high standard
• Work from engineering drawings and production instructions
• Ensure products meet quality requirements
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues
• Monitor stock levels and assist with material replenishment
• Carry out daily equipment checks and keep a clean, organised area
• Follow health and safety procedures and report concerns promptly
• Assist in maintaining efficient production processes and achieving team targets
• Be willing to train on bandsaws, pillar drills, and punch presses
• Support other departments as required by business needs
