Machinery & site foreman lead

Clock House Farm is one of the UK’s foremost soft fruit producers, recognised for quality, innovation, and sustainability.

Working at Clock House Farm’s propagation business this role is largely focussed on the coordination and operation of a number of machines on the site. You will be involved in everything from pot filling, planting, crop spraying, plant packing, mowing, minibus driving, stimming, machine maintenance and general site maintenance. You will be happy running a small team and be willing to operate the machinery as required.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Mowing, pulverising and airblading
  • Crop Spraying
  • Operation of machinery used on site (Carraro Mach 4 quadtrack, orchard tractors, mini digger, pivot steer loaders, steam generator, pot filler, conveyor belts, automation equipment)
  • Maintenance of all machines used on site (daily pre‑drive checks and ensuring all machines and vehicles are in good order, and reporting any issues to the Workshop Manager)
  • Operation of new automated tray field machinery
  • Responsible for all drivers on site
  • Responsible for managing the time of mowing, spraying, strimmer and JCB team
  • Pre‑empting any mowing or cultivation and maintenance works
  • Ensuring all machinery is being used in accordance with company SSOW and is being used safely
  • Responsible for ensuring the site tools are looked after and returned to correct areas after use
  • Ensuring pots are steamed and ready for use as required
  • Site maintenance; identifying work to be carried out by the Site Maintenance Operative or escalated to the farm maintenance team as required
  • Responsible for transporting workers from accommodation to field, organise the transport plan each week.
  • Ensuring that the site is tidy and well organised at all times
  • Carrying out site security checks, gates and buildings to be locked at end of each day
  • Responsible for yard areas and shed tidiness
  • Training new drivers
  • You must have the right to work in the UK.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £14.82-£15.56 per hour
