Job summary

Greencore operates a Newark, Nottinghamshire site manufacturing chilled desserts and goods. You will join a fast-paced production team as a Machine Technician on day shifts, ensuring GMP, CCP documentation, and continuous line efficiency.

Training and development are available within a large multinational group. The role requires prior manufacturing experience, leadership potential, and strong numerical English skills.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing experience is essential.
• Previous Team Leader/Supervisory experience is desirable.
• Good English and Maths understanding.

Responsibilities

• Record CCP and traceability for finished products.
• Prepare workstations at shift start for production.
• Operate and monitor lines and equipment like checkweighers and metal detectors.
• Supervise small teams of 2–5 operatives.
• Assist with training and buddying new staff.

The site employs over 1,800 people.About the role.We manufacture a wide range of high-quality chilled products for our dedicated customers at our sites. Our production lines are non-stop, so you’ll be kept busy creating our products. Working right at the heart of our fast-paced, high-pressured environment, you’ll enjoy plenty of variety, be encouraged to find where your strengths lie and supported to achieve your full potential.Ensuring safe systems of work as well as CCPs and GMP standards are adhered to. Completing CCP and traceability paperwork and operating machinery. To supervise teams of operatives ranging from 2 – 5 people. To work as part of a team assembling, packing into outer cases and palletising finished goods products.Machine Technician - Days duties may include:Correctly recording CCP and traceability for finished products manufacturedPreparing workstations at start of shift ready for production operation to start efficientlyCollecting and signing equipment/utensils in and outCompleting and recording employee job rotation as per company policyStarting and operating equipment/machinery – checkweighers and metal detectorsMaking reasonable adjustments to line operation to ensure most efficient runningEnsuring that production line follows and completes production planAct upon decisions made on any exception to product specification and record appropriatelyUndertaking routine food safety, GMP and quality checks and recording in-line with legal and customer requirementsTo act as a workplace buddy for all new employees and assist with the training as required.Able to work on the coding line and label room as per business needsSupporting trials and preparing sample requests on time when requested from other departmentsCommunicating with relevant departments and stakeholders. (Technical, High Risk and Despatch)Support in waste and variance projectsSupport in capturing production data on iPads in Redzone, analysing production data and using it to make efficiency and material usage decisions Be flexible to move between bays/areas as per production needsWe’re looking for hardworking people, willing to learn and keen to progress.
