Overview

M-Sport UK is at the cutting edge of global motorsport, with a proud and rich heritage of competing and winning at the highest levels. Our precision engineering and innovation set the pace. We’re expanding our in-house capabilities and are looking for a Machine Shop Planner & Programmer to join our precision-driven Machine Shop Department to help us deliver high-performance components to the highest standards. As a key member of our Machine Shop team, you’ll be responsible for the planning, programming, and optimisation of CNC machined components used across our motorsport programmes.

Responsibilities
  • Creating and managing CNC programs using CAM software.
  • Planning machining operations for complex parts, balancing quality, speed, and efficiency.
  • Selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting strategies.
  • Working closely with Design, Production, and Quality teams to meet exacting motorsport standards.
  • Monitoring production schedules and ensuring timely delivery of machined components.
  • Driving continuous improvement across machining processes and workflows.
Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a self-motivated team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. The ideal candidate will be:

  • Educated to a Level 3 certificate or equivalent qualification in Machining or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Confident in CNC programming and planning in a high-precision environment.
  • Strong interpretation of technical drawings and 3D CAD models.
  • Effective knowledge of machining processes, materials, and tolerances.
  • Skilled in multitasking and prioritising workloads under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for problem solving.
  • Computer literate with strong MS Office skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in CNC machining and machine shop operations, preferably within motorsport, automotive, or precision engineering environment.
