Mazco Recruitment is proud to be representing a leading subcontract engineering business with a reputation for quality, reliability, and technical excellence. We are seeking a highly motivated Workshop Manager to lead and grow their CNC workshop operation.

The Role

As Workshop Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the CNC department — ensuring all work is delivered on time, to specification, and within budget. You'll lead a team of skilled engineers, drive continuous improvement, and play a key role in shaping production strategy alongside the Managing Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the CNC production team to achieve performance targets.
  • Plan and maintain production schedules in line with company objectives.
  • Monitor output, quality, and costs to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Support staff development through training and mentoring.
  • Ensure machinery and equipment are maintained for optimal performance.
  • Oversee raw material and tooling procurement in collaboration with purchasing.
  • Promote adherence to quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct production review meetings with senior management.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient workshop environment.
About You
  • Strong engineering background, ideally within a CNC machining environment.
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience (or readiness to step up into management).
  • Excellent understanding of production management and process improvement.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to motivate and develop others.
  • IT-literate and comfortable working with modern manufacturing systems.
