Mazco Recruitment is working with a leading precision engineering company in Oxford to appoint an experienced Machine Shop Manager/Director. This position plays a pivotal role in overseeing operations within a modern, high-precision CNC machining facility.

Role

As Machine Shop Manager/Director, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the CNC machine shop. You will manage workflow, quality standards, team performance, and ensure production targets and customer expectations are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and support the CNC machine shop team
• Plan workload, allocate resources, and drive efficient production
• Oversee machining quality, standards, and process optimisation
• Support programming and manufacturing engineering as required
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage and develop a team of skilled CNC engineers
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations
• Work closely with senior management, customers, and internal stakeholders

Experience & Skills Required

• Proven experience as a Machine Shop Manager, Production Manager, or Machine Shop Director within a CNC environment
• Strong CNC milling background, ideally with previous hands‑on experience
• Experience working with Doosan and DMG Mori 5‑axis milling machines
• Proficiency with offline CAD/CAM, specifically Hypermill
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving abilities
• Solid understanding of modern machining processes, tooling, and workflow
