St Helens , for an experienced
Moulder Operator / Machinist . This is a fast‑paced role within a skilled and supportive team.
Salary is dependent on experience and will be discussed at interview.
Report directly to the Mill Manager.
Operate timber‑cutting machinery safely and accurately, ensuring components meet exact specifications and quality standards.
Set up and operate wood‑working machines to produce small mouldings and PSEs from solid wood to a high‑quality finish.
Set up and operate wood moulders (ideally Weinig Powermat & Hydromat).
Follow all Health & Safety procedures, including correct use of PPE and safe handling of machinery.
Maintain a clean and organised work area.
Inspect finished components for quality and consistency, making adjustments where required.
Understand wood properties, timber grades, and machining defects.
Read and interpret technical drawings and cutting lists to ensure accurate production.
Measure and mark timber accurately using tape measures, callipers, and other precision tools.
Work collaboratively with the production team to meet daily targets and deadlines.
Report any faults or issues promptly to the supervisor.
We are seeking candidates with proven experience and relevant qualifications in wood machining, particularly in the setting and operation of wood moulders. Applicants must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, the ability to work to tight tolerances, strong communication skills, and a proactive, team‑focused approach. A commitment to maintaining and promoting high Health & Safety standards is essential.

A negotiable salary based upon experience.
Permanent contract directly with Cheshire Mouldings.
28 days annual leave.
Fixed days, no nights, no weekends.
