Job summary

Covertec Structures Limited. in Lutterworth is seeking a Machine Operative to join the workshop team. Training will be provided for PVC welding machinery, so prior PVC welding experience is not essential. You will work from measurements to prepare, cut and join PVC fabrics into finished products.

The role emphasizes accuracy, manual handling of materials up to 40kg, and safe operation of workshop machinery. Training and long-term stability are offered in a small, friendly team.

Qualifications

• Experience operating machinery in a manufacturing, workshop or production environment.
• Good attention to detail and pride in producing accurate work.
• Comfortable working from measurements and specifications.
• Confident using measuring equipment such as tape measures.
• Ability to make accurate, straight cuts and handle materials up to ~40kg.
• Reliable, practical and eager to learn.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Measure and mark PVC fabric accurately using tape and laser measures.
• Cut materials cleanly and accurately to specification.
• Operate workshop machinery safely and efficiently.
• Learn to operate high-frequency PVC welding machinery.
• Join PVC sections to create finished products.
• Check work to meet specifications and maintain consistency.
• Keep work area clean, organized and safe.
• Follow all health and safety procedures.
