Overview

Job Title: Machine Operator (Fresh Produce)

Location: Outskirts of Canterbury

Salary: £12.90 starting, increasing to £14.56 once competent at Level 3 requirements

Hours: 48 hours per week between the hours of 6am - 6pm, working 5 days out of 7

About the client

Is a well-established fresh produce company located on the outskirts of Canterbury. Specialising in the supply of fresh produce to major retailers across the UK.

Role Summary

You will be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery used in food processing and packaging, ensuring production runs efficiently, safely and to a high quality standard.

Key responsibilities
  • Set up machinery in a safe and timely manner.
  • Start the production run at Line Leaders request.
  • Monitor the line performance during production.
  • Carry out regular quality checks on products to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to prevent downtime.
  • Assist the Line Leader with monitoring hygiene and cleaning.
  • Ensure the clean as you go policy is adhered to.
  • Complete all paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Complete downtime and audit reports.
Experience and skills required
  • Previous experience of working with fresh produce.
  • Experience as a Machine Operator in fresh produce.
  • HACCP knowledge.
  • Food Safety Awareness.
  • A good level of Maths and English
