Job summary

Kinetic plc are recruiting for a Machine Operator at their Birtley site. The role starts with a 6-week training period on days (08:00–16:00) to qualify you on plasma cutting and bandsaw operations, before transitioning to a permanent night shift (20:00–06:00).

Earn £13.18 per hour during training, rising to £17.57 per hour on the night shift once fully trained. This is an excellent opportunity to gain specialist machinery experience and progress within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing, production or machine operating environments.
• Ability to follow instructions and work accurately to set processes.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor plasma cutting and bandsaw machinery.
• Set up machinery, including loading materials and adjusting settings.
• Ensure machinery is operating efficiently and safely.
• Carry out routine quality checks and record results.
• Identify and report faults, defects or breakdowns.
• Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Read and follow work instructions, job sheets and specifications.
• Meet daily production targets and deadlines.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Follow all company health & safety policies and procedures.
