Job summary

South West Recruitment Ltd in Poole, Dorset, is seeking a Permanent Machine Operator to join a global food packaging manufacturer. The role involves operating extrusion equipment, meeting quality standards and following strict Health & Safety guidelines. Training is provided, with a rotating schedule after training.

Initially you’ll work 8.00am–4.00pm, then rotate to 2 weeks of days and 2 weeks of nights. The position offers training, a generous benefits package and long-term career prospects.

Qualifications

• Technically capable with an interest in manufacturing machinery.
• Able to follow production procedures and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate extrusion machinery safely and efficiently.
• Meet production targets and quality standards.
• Check, measure and record product specifications.
• Take product samples in line with procedures.
• Dismantle and clean production equipment as required.
• Process and grind production scrap.
• Move finished materials to storage areas.
• Assist with stocktaking and housekeeping.
