About the Role

Join our team as a Level 2 Machine Operator at Schneider Electric in Eastfield.

As a Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in our production processes. Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Set up, operate and monitor machines.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Replace components such as belts, bearings, and seals.
  • Conduct continuity checks and basic diagnostics.
  • Support commissioning and testing activities.
  • Follow technical drawings and assembly instructions accurately.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure every product meets our high standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain efficient production flow and meet targets.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work space.
  • Follow safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Apply standardised manufacturing processes across various tasks, including basic maintenance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and communicate any health, safety, quality, or environmental risks to the Team Leader.
  • Report all incidents and near misses, applying the escalation process for deviations.
  • Process orders accurately and promptly.
  • Develop knowledge of our products and systems.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the line manager.
What We're Looking For

Skills
  • Competency in operating and maintaining electrical machinery.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), HMIs, and VFDs.
  • Basic fault diagnosis and corrective actions.
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical safety standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately, meeting deadlines consistently.
  • Practical aptitude for science or engineering skills.
  • High flexibility and dependability.
  • Motivated mindset, eagerness to learn, and good attendance record.
Training & Qualifications
  • Schneider Electric-specific training or equivalent (e.g., EcoBuilding Academy, Power Management University).
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Maintenance.
  • Completion of Schneider Electric Level 2 maintenance training.
