Machine Maintenance Engineer

Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are currently recruiting for a Machine Maintenance Engineer at our client's West Yorkshire site in Knottingley.

Rate of Pay: £15.05 per hour.

Working Hours: 39 hours over 7 days: Monday to Friday 2pm–10pm and weekends 12pm–2pm. There is an element of flexibility required for this role and schedules may change from time to time to suit factory needs.

Experience: Previous knowledge of working within a glass manufacture plant and/or 24‑hour process environment is an advantage but not essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and repair of machines within the client's Cold End Production Department, ensuring equipment achieves maximum efficiency and manufacturing performance.
  • Cleaning, checking, repairing and refurbishing of spares to ensure availability and minimise downtime.

Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Fully apprentice‑trained.
  • Good level of Maths and English.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to undertake an aptitude test to demonstrate these skills.
  • Enthusiastic and committed with a pro‑active and flexible approach.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritise workload.
  • Effective communication at all levels.
