Job summary

Plan:it in London is hiring 2x ML Researchers (Senior + Mid-level) to advance cutting-edge speech and real-time audio ML research. The team focuses on TTS, emotional speech, and low-latency systems, with publications a bonus and a collaborative culture.

You will work with a strong technical team, applying Python and PyTorch to develop new architectures and validate experiments in real-world deployments.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in ML, AI, or a related field.
• Experience researching and training deep learning models.
• Exposure to speech, audio or adjacent generative ML research.
• Strong experimental and research mindset.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop ML models for speech synthesis and real-time audio tasks.
• Design and evaluate novel model architectures and training procedures.
• Collaborate with a small, highly technical ML team to push state-of-the-art.
• Publish findings or present insights when applicable.

Job description

I’m working with a well-funded AI scale-up building cutting-edge technology across speech, audio and real-time communication.

They’re hiring 2x ML Researchers to join a small, highly technical ML research team. One Senior + Mid-level engineer.

The focus:

• Speech synthesis / TTS
• Emotional speech generation / recognition
• Real-time / low-latency audio ML

For the more senior hire, they’re particularly interested in people who have developed new ML approaches and model architectures, rather than simply worked with existing APIs or off-the-shelf models.

You’ll be a good fit if you have:

• Strong Python + PyTorch
• MSc or PhD
• Experience researching and training deep learning models
• Exposure to speech, audio or adjacent generative ML research
• A strong experimental and research mindset
• Publications are a bonus, not a requirement

You’ll be joining a genuinely strong technical team, solving difficult ML problems with technology already deployed in real-world environments.

This is a hybrid role in London, with 3 days per week in the office.
