Job summary

Understanding Recruitment is seeking a talented Machine Learning Engineer to design, train and deploy state-of-the-art ML systems across computer vision, multimodal sensing, robotics and autonomy. You will work end-to-end—from experimentation and model development to deploying robust AI on cloud and edge hardware, collaborating with software engineers to ship production systems.

This London-based, office-first role involves engaging with customers, UK travel and occasional international

Qualifications

• Experience in building ML models for real-world deployment.
• Experience with computer vision and robotics projects is preferred.
• Exposure to edge computing and cloud deployment.
• Familiarity with MLOps practices and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design, train and deploy deep learning models for real-world problems.
• Work across computer vision, multimodal AI, perception and autonomy.
• Take models from research to production.
• Build end-to-end AI systems from sensor data to user interfaces.

Machine Learning Engineer

Want to build AI that operates in the real world - not just in a notebook?

We’re looking for an exceptional AI Engineer to develop and deploystate-of-the‑art machine learning systemstackling complex problems across computer vision, multimodal sensing, robotics and autonomy.

You’ll work end-to-end - from experimentation and model development through to deploying robust AI oncloud and resource‑constrained edge hardware.

What you’ll do

• Design, train and deploydeep learning modelsfor challenging real‑world problems
• Work acrosscomputer vision, multimodal AI, perception and autonomy
• Take models from research and experimentation intoproduction
• Build end-to-end AI systems spanningsensor data through to the user
• Optimise models for performance onedge and resource‑constrained hardware
• Work with large real‑world and synthetic datasets
• Collaborate with strong software engineers to integrate ML into production systems
• Explore new approaches where existing techniques aren't good enough

We’d love to hear from people with experience in:

• Computer vision / robotics / autonomous systems

• Multimodal and vision‑language models
• Synthetic data, simulation or large‑scale real‑world datasets
• ProductionMLOps and model monitoring
• Research published at venues such asCVPR, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICCV, ICRA, IROS or TPAMI
