Coinford are leaders in groundwork and concrete frame construction, delivering quality and precision across major UK projects. We're currently looking for a Skilled 13T Machine Driver to join our experienced team - someone who takes pride in their work, understands the importance of safety, and can deliver to the highest standard on busy construction sites.
Responsibilities
- Operate a 13‑tonne excavator safely and efficiently in line with company and site procedures
- Excavate strip foundations, drainage runs, and service trenches accurately to level and line
- Work confidently with trench boxes, drag boxes, manhole boxes, and trench sheets, ensuring lifting operations are carried out safely
- Carry out fine grading and finishing works, including topsoil, type 1, and road formation to required tolerances
- Read and interpret drawings, site plans, and levels, working closely with engineers and foremen
- Always obtain and comply with dig permits before breaking ground
- Work safely around live services, demonstrating strong knowledge of service avoidance procedures
- Conduct daily pre‑start checks, maintain accurate inspection records, and report any faults or maintenance needs promptly
- Perform routine greasing, cleaning, and basic maintenance to keep the machine in excellent working condition
- Take ownership and pride in the machine - maintaining a high standard of care and presentation
- Support the site team proactively, managing time efficiently and adapting to changing site priorities
Qualifications
- CPCS or NPORS Excavator 360 (above 10T) with Lifting Ops
- 5+ years' experience in groundworks or civil engineering environments
- Experience with GPS or machine control systems (Trimble, Leica, or similar) is highly advantageous
- Additional CPCS/NPORS tickets – Telehandler, Dumper, Roller, or similar
- SSSTS or willingness to work towards it
