Cornerstone Community Care in Alford is seeking a Personal Assistant to provide support for an active autistic teen. The role includes helping with social communication and social interaction while promoting independence. Flexible scheduling for up to 15 hours a week is offered, along with £14.41 per hour pay and travel allowances.
Applicants should be car drivers and willing to join the PVG Scheme. This role may suit someone enthusiastic about physical activities and neurodivergent support.
Location: Alford. Hours: Up to 15 hours per week plus sleepovers (see advert for details). Pay: £14.41 per hour, with mileage allowance for trips out – must be a car driver.
Schedule: Thursday and Friday 2:30pm-5:30pm. 10 sleepovers annually (15 hours + sleepover rate per night). Flexible scheduling; choose days that suit you.
Responsibilities: Provide one‑to‑one support for an active autistic teen who enjoys trips around Aberdeenshire, supports his volunteering work, and activities such as 3D printing, gym sessions, and more. Assist him with social communication and social interaction, promoting his independence, dignity and choice.
Requirements: Membership of the PVG Scheme will be required. Additional autism‑specific training will be provided by the employer. May suit someone interested in physical activities and neurodivergence.
