Job Description

We're looking for an experienced M&E Service Technician to support modular wastewater treatment projects across the Midlands, Northern England, and Wales.

You can be based between Birmingham and Manchester with occasional travel to offices/sites across the UK.

Some areas of the role include:

Project Delivery & Site Operations
  • Support project delivery across the UK, with a focus on Midlands, Northern England, and Wales.
  • Manage all mechanical and electrical (M&E) works on-site.
  • Supervise site supervisors, subcontractors, and contract labour.
  • Conduct quality checks and ensure contract compliance.
  • Prepare and deliver toolbox talks and RAMS.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC contract requirements.
Planning & Coordination
  • Manage stock and coordinate site materials for hire orders.
  • Programme works and set team targets to meet or exceed deadlines.
  • Liaise with clients to agree on delivery dates and manage work schedules.
  • Provide weekly internal updates and monthly progress reports to clients.
Technical & Design Support
  • Scope and supervise M&E installations.
  • Provide outline electrical design for costing and scope development.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and support procurement.
  • Promote value engineering and cost‑saving initiatives.
Requirements:
  • NVQ/BTech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Membership in a recognised engineering institution ().
  • Strong technical background in the water sector (WIMES, UK codes, asset standards).
  • Experience with wastewater treatment equipment and operational safety.
  • Experience in Design & Build environments.
  • Certifications: 18th Edition, SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS Black Card.
