Paxton Personnel Ltd in the Highlands is seeking an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. You will manage commercial activities for mechanical and electrical packages from procurement through final account, working closely with project teams to deliver within targets.
The role requires a background in M&E building services, strong contract knowledge and excellent negotiation and communication skills.

An established and growing contractor is looking to appoint an M&E Quantity Surveyor to join its team in the Highlands.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced QS with a mechanical and/or electrical background to join a busy contractor with a strong pipeline of projects across the Highlands.
Working closely with the commercial and operational teams, you will be responsible for the commercial management of mechanical and electrical packages from procurement through to final account.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing the commercial performance of M&E packages and projects
Preparing valuations, variations and final accounts
Procurement and commercial management of M&E subcontractors
Preparing and reviewing subcontractor payments
Cost planning, forecasting and commercial reporting
Managing change, variations and contractual matters
Monitoring project costs against budgets
Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
Working closely with Project Managers, Contracts Managers and site teams
Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
Ensuring projects are delivered within agreed commercial targets
We are looking for someone with:
Previous Quantity Surveying experience within M&E / Building Services
Mechanical, electrical or combined M&E experience
Experience working for an M&E contractor, building services contractor or main contractor
Strong commercial and contractual awareness
Experience managing specialist subcontractor packages
Good understanding of construction contracts
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Relevant Quantity Surveying or construction qualification preferred
Full UK driving licence
Experience across mechanical services, electrical installations, HVAC, heating, plumbing, renewables or wider building services projects would be particularly beneficial.
