M&E Quantity Surveyor

Salary: £40 - £55k + pkg
Location: Somerset
Region: South West

A Major contractor is seeking an M&E Quantity Surveyor to work on a multi-billion pound project in Somerset.

My Client is a market-leading mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) and mechanical, electrical and instrumentation (ME&I) solutions provider with over 100 years of expertise.

We design, install and maintain the systems that make building infrastructure work. Emphasising environmentally efficient technologies, digital construction and offsite manufacturing, our experienced teams deliver high-quality solutions across the following sectors: Aviation, Buildings, Civils, Defence, Energy and New Build Nuclear.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will have the following accountabilities:

  • Commercial support to Task Order Package Managers and Planners within a Multi-Disciplinary Team
  • Monitoring planned v actual trade production / performance
  • Identifying and mitigating delay
  • Change Management, including identifying and notifying change, updating the register of access, and providing Cost Advice.
  • Undertake regular site walk-rounds and tool-box talks
  • Use of CEMAR for contractual communications
  • Supporting preparation of Application for Payment and facilitate Audit of Defined Cost.

Who we’re looking for

  • Preferably a Chartered Surveyor, RICS APC Candidate &/or Member of the Association of Cost Engineers

OR

  • Quantity Surveyor with time-served trade / installation knowledge, preferably within the industrial M&E sector

As well as;

  • Experience of the Nuclear Sector or other highly regulated industries;
  • familiar with industrial electrical installations; NEC Contracts; &/or Progress and Production tracking and risk / opportunity management.
