Job summary

GOLDBECK seeks an experienced Electrical/Building Services Engineer to design and coordinate M&E concepts for diverse projects. You will develop concept and construction issue plans, create REVIT plans, and collaborate with internal teams and external offices to ensure compliant, cost-effective solutions.

The role requires 3–4 years in building services design, solid knowledge of UK/EU standards, and familiarity with BIM workflows. An active professional membership is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years design experience in building services
• Experience with REVIT and MEP software

• Professional membership (CIBSE, IET) beneficial
• Knowledge of HV/LV systems and embedded generation

Responsibilities

• Create M&E concepts in coordination with the sales engineer and client
• Prepare concept, preliminary and construction issue plans
• Prepare plans on REVIT and related BIM tools
• Coordinate with internal departments and external planning offices
• Manage and check external design offices for MEP design
• Consult with client-side partners and attend meetings as required
• Calculate small to medium-sized technical building systems
• Prepare bills of quantities and support tendering to subcontractors
• Perform quality and cost comparisons between calculations and execution

Responsibilities

• Creation of M&E concepts in coordination with the sales engineer and client
• Preparation of concept, preliminary and construction issue plans
• Preparation of plans on GOLDBECK CAD system
• Integral cooperation with internal departments and external planning offices
• Management and checking of external design offices employed to do our MEP Design
• Consultation and coordination with client side partners including meetings with the clients as required.
• Calculation of small to medium-sized technical building systems
• Calculation and design of technical building systems with software support
• Determination of quantities, preparation of lists of services and requirements
• Preparation of bills of quantities and invitations to tender as well as support in awarding contracts to subcontractors
• Quality and cost comparison between the calculation and the execution after submission of the subcontractor offers
• The processing is carried out on the basis of the CAD tool REVIT or corresponding applications, model- and database-oriented
• The planning system follows the GOLDBECK BIM strategy

Profile

• Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (Chartered or working towards) /Candidates with HNC or HND with suitable design experience will also be considered.
• Minimum of 3-4 years experience of design in building services, post qualification completion
• Experience of Software design using – Revit, Microsoft suite of programmes, Relux/Dialux, Amtech
• Knowledge of British and European Standards, Building Regulations documents etc.
• Knowledge of HTM’s would be beneficial
• Professional Membership (CIBSE, IET) would be beneficial
• A good understanding of HV/LV systems
• Knowledge of integration of embedded generation
• An understanding and specification of incorporating various renewable technologies
• Working knowledge of BREEAM / LEED
• An appreciation of mechanical and electrical engineering to be able to cover both disciplines at meetings
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• A strong willingness to learn and a desire to develop new and existing solutions
