Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + Car/Car Allowance + Package

Our client is a multi‑disciplinary Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) contractor based in Chester, delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across the industrial, commercial, retail, stadia, accommodation, and healthcare sectors.
With a strong focus on project management, design, installation, and maintenance, they have established themselves as a trusted name within the building services industry.

The Role

As an M&E Contracts Manager, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of mechanical and electrical projects across the region. You will manage teams, oversee subcontractors, and liaise directly with clients, consultants, and senior management to ensure smooth project execution from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee multiple M&E projects across commercial, industrial, and public‑sector developments.
  • Manage and coordinate both mechanical and electrical works from design through to installation and handover.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, and developers to ensure project specifications and targets are met.
  • Lead and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and internal delivery teams.
  • Monitor budgets, schedules, and cashflow while controlling costs and variations.
  • Oversee design reviews, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure all works comply with industry standards, CDM regulations, and health & safety legislation.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, RAMS, and commissioning reports.
  • Report to senior leadership on project progress, risks, and performance.
Who We're Looking For

We're looking for a confident, technically strong M&E professional with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams.

Candidate Requirements
  • Extensive experience managing mechanical and electrical projects from tender to completion.
  • Strong understanding of M&E design, coordination, and installation processes.
  • Proven ability to manage pre‑construction planning, programming, and project delivery.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and contractual knowledge (JCT/NEC).
  • Experience overseeing large, complex M&E packages across multiple sectors.
  • Solid knowledge of quality standards, CDM regulations, and building services compliance.
  • Experience producing and reviewing technical documentation such as RAMS, drawings, and commissioning reports.
  • A hands‑on approach with strong leadership, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred).
  • SMSTS and CSCS.
  • First Aid at Work.
  • Proficient in project management software and systems.
  • Full UK driving licence.
