Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) is seeking an Associate Underwriter / Underwriter to support the Transactional Liability team in underwriting Warranty and Indemnity Insurance across diverse industries and deal values, with a focus on London and UK markets.

You will review transaction materials, draft terms, coordinate with counsel, and manage the underwriting process while building broker and customer relationships and attending industry events.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in W&I insurance as underwriting analyst, underwriter or broker.
• Background in law, economics, accounting or M&A preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team and make quick, sound underwriting decisions.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite M&A transactions with a focus on London and UK markets.
• Review transaction materials to assess risk and draft indications of terms.
• Draft and negotiate W&I policies, endorsements and related underwriting documents.
• Manage underwriting process and coordinate with outside counsel and advisors.
• Develop broker and client relationships and participate in industry events.
