Job summary

Obsidian in Greater London is seeking an in-house corporate development professional to drive M&A processes from start to finish. You will complete self-contained exercises and deliverables based on mock CIMs, diligence reports, term sheets and board decks, graded against a rubric.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in an in-house role, hands-on ownership of live transactions, and a background in IB/PE is a plus.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in an in-house corporate development or M&A role at an operating company.
• Hands-on ownership of live transactions end to end.

Responsibilities

• Build valuation and merger models: three-statement, DCF, trading and transaction comps, accretion-dilution, cap table and equity waterfall.
• Draft and compare transaction terms: IOIs, LOIs, term sheets, bid comparisons, deal structure and consideration economics.
• Produce process and board materials: management presentations, data packs, buyer universes, board and committee decks, closing mechanics and funds flow.
• Run screening, diligence and integration work: inbound deal screens, diligence request lists, findings synthesis, synergy models, carve-out analysis, 100-day plans.

About the work

We're building a high-quality library of in-house corporate development work products. You'll complete self-contained M&A exercises from mock files (CIMs, diligence reports, term sheets, board decks) and produce the deliverable for each, graded against a rubric.
