Job summary

Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a full‑time consultant to join the heart and lung transplant team. The role centers on responsive care for referring physicians, ward rounds, patients on ECLS, and the transplant MDT, with a strong emphasis on research, training, and developing the transplant programme.

Applicants must have MBBS or equivalent, full GMC registration, and a sub‑specialist interest in lung transplantation, with experience managing pre- and post-transplant

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent.
• Full GMC registration.
• Sub-specialist interest in lung transplantation.
• Experience managing patients before and after lung and heart/lung transplantation.

Responsibilities

• Provide a responsive clinical service to referring physicians.
• Work as a full member of the heart and lung transplant team, including the transplant medical rota and weekly MDT.
• Be responsible for patients on ECLS and help develop the ECLS service.
• Hold regular ward rounds to support timely, safe discharge.
• Contribute to consultant physician cover for the Transplant Unit.
• Train junior medical staff in transplant and cardiac surgery, with teaching and career guidance.
