Job summary

Storal Learning Ltd. Chesterfield Nursery is recruiting a nursery assistant to support lunchtime routines and nutrition-focused activities. You’ll work with a warm, dedicated team in a Grade II listed setting, embracing play-based learning and safe, caring environments.

Experience in Early Years and Level 2+ childcare qualifications are valued; EYFS knowledge is advantageous. Schedule includes daytime hours with a focus on wellbeing and development.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 2 or above in Childcare.
• Experience with all age groups in Early Years settings.
• Knowledge of the EYFS framework is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children during lunchtime, ensuring they are seated safely.
• Support and encourage positive behaviour at the table.
• Promote healthy eating habits and good oral health.
• Encourage children to eat independently and try different foods.
• Ensure hygiene routines, including washing hands, are followed.
• Create a calm, friendly lunchtime environment and assist as needed.
• Communicate with parents when needed and provide feedback on eating or behaviour.
