Job description

As the Lunch Site Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining high standards of food preparation, hygiene, and care, ensuring pupils and staff enjoy safe, nutritious meals in a welcoming environment.

The role is based at Wessex Lodge School, which comprises three sites: Wessex Lodge Primary School in Kilmington, Wessex Lodge Secondary School in Frome, and Newmead Farm in Maiden Bradley. Students aged 6 to 18 study a broad curriculum that includes animal care, horticulture, DT, forest school, and sporting activities.Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve breakfast, breaktime, and lunchtime meals to pupils and staff
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas
  • Manage stock, place food orders, and monitor supplies
  • Comply with Health & Safety, food safety, and hygiene legislation
  • Support pupil care by being aware of allergies and following safeguarding procedures
  • Undertake additional cleaning tasks to maintain overall standards
  • Assist in minor first aid incidents under the guidance of the registered first aider
  • Contribute positively to the school environment as part of the team
Qualifications

  • Flexible, reliable, and able to work independently or in a team
  • Good personal hygiene and ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
