Job summary

Dovetail and Slate is seeking Learning Support Assistants to help students with additional needs in Gloucestershire. You will provide dedicated support to learners with SEND, working alongside teaching staff to help them engage with lessons and reach individual goals.

The role covers one-to-one and classroom support, adapting approaches to suit needs and ensuring a safe, inclusive learning environment. Start date September 2026; contract roles available in FE settings.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting learners with special educational needs.
• Understanding of EHCP and how it informs support.
• Confident working both one-to-one and in classroom settings.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
• Patience and commitment to inclusive education.

About the Role

You will provide dedicated support to students with special educational needs and disabilities, working alongside teaching staff to help every learner engage with their studies and reach their individual goals. You'll bring patience, encouragement and a genuine commitment to inclusive education.

Working both one to one and in the classroom, you'll adapt your approach to suit different needs, creating a supportive environment where students feel able to develop and thrive. This is a contract role with a further education provider Gloucestershire.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing one-to-one and classroom-based support to students with SEND.
• Working closely with teaching staff to help learners engage with lessons and activities.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service
• Patience, encouragement and a genuine commitment to inclusive education
