About The Role

Contract Type: Permanent. Working Hours: Full Time. Qualifications Required: Good numeracy and literacy skills, at least equivalent to RQF Level 2. Salary: £26,403 - £28,142 per annum. Start Date: 15 December 2025.

This is a great opportunity to join our friendly and supportive staff team and work in our highly rated secondary school in central Manchester.

We are looking for a colleague with a welcoming, well-organised and supportive approach who is keen to promote students\' reading, learning and research skills, whilst managing and maintaining library and school media resources.

About the Candidate

What we\'re looking for from you:

  • Experience and understanding of safeguarding and child protection issues, or be willing to undertake training in these areas;
  • Numeracy and literacy skills at least equivalent to RQF Level 2; good ICT skills are essential;
  • Experience of working in a secondary school environment in a similar role, specifically classroom & administrative experiences, or in a library, bookshop or customer-focused service;
  • Experience of working in a busy environment with competing priorities and deadlines, ideally in an educational setting and with experience of using SIMS;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently responding to tight deadlines, whilst collaborating with colleagues to achieve goals and complete projects within timescales and build effective relationships with students, colleagues, visitors and professionals;
  • An understanding of the need for confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information;
  • Willingness to work flexibly and attend occasional out of hours events;
  • First Aid trained, or be willing to undergo training;
  • Supportive of the school\'s excellent staff attendance and punctuality record, which in turn supports student attainment.
