Job Title: Low Risk Trainee Manager

Location: Northampton

Salary: £40,000 - £44,000 per annum

Hours: Monday - Friday, 5:00am-3:00pm or 6:00am-4:00pm

Industry: FMCG (Food or other fast-paced production environment)

About the Role

Our client is seeking an ambitious Team Leader or Supervisor ready to take the next step in their career into a Trainee Low Risk Manager role. This is an excellent opportunity to progress within a leading FMCG manufacturer, where product integrity, food safety, and operational excellence are at the core of everything they do.

As the Low Risk Trainee Manager, you'll play a vital role in ensuring product quality, safety, and compliance with legislation while supporting the day-to-day operations of the production area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain food safety, authenticity, product integrity, and quality across all processes.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP (CCP/LCP) procedures and accurate completion of related documentation.
  • Oversee and monitor daily production schedules, ensuring targets are met efficiently.
  • Evaluate performance of supervisors and team leaders against company standards.
  • Liaise with Technical and Factory Managers to maintain factory, hygiene, and housekeeping standards.
  • Monitor stock levels to ensure production requirements are met.
  • Provide training and retraining where necessary to maintain high standards.
  • Ensure full traceability and residual control procedures are followed.
  • Investigate and resolve non-conformances or process deviations, implementing corrective actions.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in hygiene, safety, and process control.
Accountabilities

The Low Risk Manager is responsible to the Directors, General Manager, and Technical Manager, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, including but not limited to:

  • The Food Safety Act 1990
  • Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2006
  • Health & Safety at Work Act 1999
  • Food Information Regulations 2014
  • Regulation (EC) 852/2004 - Hygiene of Foodstuffs
  • Country of Origin 2011 and other applicable laws
About You
  • Proven experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor in an FMCG environment — food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP, and quality systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ambitious, proactive, and ready to progress into a management role.
