Job summary

N Consulting Global in London is seeking an experienced Java Developer with strong JVM tuning, concurrency, and low-latency system design to build and optimise high-performance, event-driven applications.

You will dig into Java internals, memory management, Linux networking, and reactive architectures to reduce latency and increase throughput in latency-sensitive environments, collaborating with distributed teams on profiling, tuning, and architecture decisions.

Qualifications

• Strong Java development experience with expertise in JVM tuning and performance optimisation.
• Excellent knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and concurrency.
• Experience building low-latency, high-throughput, event-driven or reactive systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise high-performance Java applications for low-latency and high-frequency environments.
• Perform JVM tuning, garbage collection optimisation, and memory management.
• Develop event-driven and reactive systems with a strong focus on concurrency and throughput.
• Optimise data structures, algorithms, networking, and application performance.
• Work with low-level Java technologies and system interfaces to improve execution efficiency.
• Analyse performance bottlenecks across the JVM, operating system, CPU, and network layers.
• Work with shared memory, memory-mapped files, and TCP/UDP networking.
• Apply knowledge of Linux internals and CPU architecture to optimise system performance.
