Job summary

Berenberg is seeking a Connectivity and Messaging Engineer in London to advance ULTRA, their connectivity & messaging platform. You will contribute to a mission-critical system enabling trading applications to communicate securely and efficiently.

You will work on in-house microservices deployed on Kubernetes, collaborating with IB teams, implementing new exchange gateways and ensuring automated testing for reliability. London-based, on-site role with top-tier financial engineering exposure.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java delivering scalable, low-latency apps.
• Strong experience with OO design and object-oriented analysis/design.
• Deep understanding of messaging patterns (point-to-point, pub/sub, event-driven).
• Familiar with full development lifecycle: implementation, reviews, automated testing, release processes (CI/CD).
• Good grasp of FIX protocol and how FIX engines operate.

Responsibilities

• Work on ULTRA connectivity & messaging platform and new exchange gateway implementations.
• Collaborate with IB teams and other systems to integrate interfaces.
• Ensure new features are automatedly tested and aligned with release processes.
