Job summary

Home Instead, Inc. is seeking Care Assistants for 4-6 hour shifts to support clients at home and in the community. This part-time role focuses on companionship, personal support, and helping clients maintain independence in their own homes with a friendly, relationship-led approach.

No prior experience is required as comprehensive training is provided. A means of transport is essential for home visits and community outings, with some sleep-night shift opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Experience in providing companionship and social support is desirable.
• Ability to assist with mobility and transport for clients.
• Comfort with helping in and around clients' homes and communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and social support to clients, encourage activities and accompany them in the community.
• Assist with basic tasks at home, meal prep, light cleaning, and maintaining a safe living space.
• Support mobility, transfers, and driving to appointments or activities as needed.
• Assist clients with community activities such as shopping, meals out, and diary management.

Each of our visits havea minimum duration of one hour to allow us to provide unrushed and relationship-led care.We’re proud to support our clients to promote their independence and dignity.

We're looking for new Care Assistants to join our team who are available for shifts of four to six hoursdaily to provide support at home and in the community. These visits will be with the same client to support their independenceand live happy in their own home for a longer period of time. There is also an opportunity for sleep-night shifts.

The support you will provide may include:

• Companionship and social support. Having a chat with clients, encouraging and supporting them to carry out activities and accompanying them out into the local community.
• Help with food preparation and household tasks, such as vacuuming, washing up and light cleaning. Supporting clients to maintain a balanced diet, helping them make a drink and assisting to keep their homes clean and safe.
• Support in the community including shopping, dining and activities of the client's choice. Helping out with the weekly shop, popping out for a coffee and helping maintain their diary.
• Mobility support and transportation. Assisting with mobility including wheelchair transfers and helping in and out of vehicles as well as driving to their desired destination.

Must have a means of transport as clients are predominately cared for in their own homes, or would like you to accompany them on appointments or outings and can live in remote areas.
