Job summary

JD.com, also known as JINGDONG, is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines powering analytics and ML across international markets. You will collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to ensure data availability, quality and security.

The role requires hands-on work with Spark/Hadoop/Flink, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), and modern data warehousing tools, in a London-based onsite setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of data engineering, big data infra, or large-scale ETL experience.
• Proficiency in SQL and programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Hands-on experience with Spark, Hadoop, Flink and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Familiarity with data warehouse technologies (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and orchestration tools (Airflow, Luigi).
• Strong knowledge of data security, compliance, and governance frameworks.
• Effective communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust data pipelines and ETL processes to support analytics, reporting, and ML model training.
• Build and optimize scalable data storage and retrieval systems to handle high-volume, multi-market datasets.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with regulations such as GDPR.
• Collaborate with data scientists and product teams to deliver reliable, well-structured datasets for experimentation and decision-making.
• Implement monitoring and automation to improve pipeline efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Contribute to the development of the overall data infrastructure roadmap for JD.com’s global operations.
