Logistics & Technical Support Fitter

Location: RNAS Culdrose, Helston TR12 7RH

Full time / 38 hours per week Monday–Friday

Serco have a fantastic opportunity for a Logistics & Technical Support Fitter to join the team at RNAS Culdrose. In this role, you will provide the technical interface within W16 for the management and delivery of Deployable Spares Packs (DSP's), View & Verify activity for non-IMOS stores items, Anti-Deterioration Maintenance (ADM) of uninstalled assets inclusive of Role Equipment (RE) and electronic data activities.

You will form part of the AESAS team at RNAS Culdrose, supporting MHF Operational tasking through management of uninstalled aviation assets within W16 at RNAS Culdrose to support management of uninstalled assets in support of MHF operational tasking, with the capacity to support at other military establishments as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Anti Deterioration Maintenance for items held within DSPs at RNAS Culdrose.
  • Assist with conditioning of items held in DSPs at RNAS Culdrose.
  • Correctly blank and package items subject to View & Verify processes within W16.
  • Conduct ADM for non-IMOS stores items held within W16 at RNAS Culdrose.
  • Conduct 6‑month ADM tasks for RE items held within W16 at RNAS Culdrose.
  • Manage W16 rejections.
  • Assist W16 in tracking missing high‑value assets, as directed by Technical Support PO or Supervisors.
  • Report quality issues relating to assets that fail to meet the required standard; returned Serviceable or Unserviceable, R2 and R3/4 from either Vendor or from 1st and 2nd line Maintenance Units.
  • All contracted tasks are carried out in a timely manner and in accordance with current Customer Policy and Regulations and other applicable statutory Regulations.
  • The AESAS Support Manager is to be made aware of all business risks.
  • All verbal and written customer complaints and quality issues are brought to the attention of the AESAS Support Manager.
  • The AESAS Support Manager is informed when regulatory, continuation, induction, human factors, promotion, on‑job and new equipment training is required for employees.
  • Comply with:
    • The Health and Safety at Work (HASAW) Act 1974.
    • The Serco Management System.
    • Where applicable Customer Policy and Regulations applicable to their grade and position.
    • Company and Customer Environmental procedures.
    • Company Equal Opportunities Policy.
  • Further training courses necessary to their job are attended as required by the AESAS Support Manager.
  • Ensuring best practice and assurance of regulatory compliance by the utilisation of DASOR, Assure and any other reporting medium to capture and communicate findings and actions from engineering, safety and near‑miss events.
  • They participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives and associated programmes when required.
  • To remain flexible and carry out any other tasks within their capabilities and experience in support of the Contract as directed by the Contract Director or their representative.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience in military/industry airworthiness environment equivalent.
  • Meet the requirements of RA4806 for award of MAM‑P authorisations as required.
  • To have write‑access to JAMES, GOLDesp, MJDI and CIETP electronic systems.
  • To include FG011SSC or equivalent.
  • Be trained to conduct servicing on ASE/GSE/HUSLE equipment.
  • To be a certified Risk Assessor.
  • To have successfully completed all mandatory MoD, NCHQ and local training courses iaw extant policy and regulation pertinent to civilian contract personnel working within the RNAS Culdrose Military Maintenance Organisation (MMO).
  • A good working knowledge of:
    • Health and Safety, the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).
    • Regulations, Tool Control and Quality Practices.
    • Engineering and Asset Management Systems.
  • Completed a Maintenance Human Factors Course.
  • An understanding and proven experience of Airworthiness Engineering Safety and Compliance iaw Regulatory and Legislative requirements (MAA and MAOS).
  • Good people management experience.
  • A good capability to work productively, efficiently & effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining operational outputs.
