Job description

This Logistics/Stock Supervisor will report to the Jointing Manager and will work within UKPN Services based in our Heathrow office but you may assist at other UKPN Services locations. You will be a permanent employee.

You will attract a salary of £46,400 plus van and a bonus of 3%. You will be based on site.

Job Purpose

You will be responsible to the Project team for delivering plant and materials, on time as needed by your projects.

You will provide daily liaison with the project teams and project planners to ensure plant is ordered, recorded, and stored ready for delivery following the project programme. The delivery will also need to be arranged, ensuring all permits, RAMs and lifting plans are in place, security passes obtained, and the right equipment gets delivered to the right site at the right time.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Manage and refine all processes involving materials and inventory for projects.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Support Project lead/Project Manager on smooth and accurate delivery of plants to ensure inventory is aligned with current and forecasted demand for project
  • Record, inspect and asset items of plant delivered and record their storage location ready for when they are required to be delivered to site.
  • Implement a computerised administration process of equipment with management of records
  • Assist engineers in inspection of equipment received ensuring quality and standards are met
  • Organise all site permits for delivery of plant to project site (CMO, Crane, Airside)
  • Contribute to the management of the inhouse database and any future development of reporting
  • Undertake the raising of PO's and good receipt on SAP for payment purposes
  • Overlook storage of plant and equipment securely making sure correct techniques such as LOLER are put in place whilst following a safe working practice
  • Be an ambassador for UK Power Networks and deliver excellent customer service
  • Be prepared to undertake other reasonable responsibilities following the requirements of the Company
  • Monitor material stock to ensure availability.
  • Ensure current inventory is aligned with current and forecasted demand for projects.
  • Receive goods in and store securely
  • Ensure quality of works meets with current policies
  • To perform risk assessments and maintain safe working practices.
Nature and Scope
  • You will ensure that important materials for the project delivery are in place. These include some transport of materials and plant to sites
  • You will report to the Jointing Manager and will work within the Heathrow area, although there may be some requirement to work across the wider UK to assist other projects
  • You will achieve delivery of work in a safe, efficient and cost-effective way, ensuring value for money and compliance with current legislation
Qualifications
  • Safety-based qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH is desirable.
Experience

Experience in the following is necessary :

  • Experience working to LOLER
  • Experience in lifting planning
  • Qualified or working towards lift Supervisor (or) Managerial qualification gained
  • Full clean UK Driving Licence
  • Emergency First Aid
  • Degree level or equivalent experience in engineering e.g. City & Guilds 2239, science, or numerical subject
  • MS Excel Skills in the production and editing of spreadsheets and their manipulation
  • Experience working with the CDM regulations and ISO9001 quality process
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Familiarity with UKPN stores ordering
  • Familiar with items of electrical network equipment
  • A safety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely is desirable

The following skills are not essential for the role but would be advantageous.
