A day in the life of a Murphy Transport Planner
  • Manage and coordinate transport activities, ensuring smooth operations and efficient scheduling of drivers.
  • Monitor incoming emails and work requests, identifying and taking appropriate action.
  • Process new jobs requests, liaising closely with sites and our hire teams.
  • Act as a communication link between site and drivers, ensuring timely updates of any changes as they occur.
  • Allocate jobs to drivers, providing them clear instructions.
  • Manage and adapt daily schedules to account for transport issues and changes.

As a Transport Planner, you will be a key member of our team, playing an integral part in the success of the business. We are looking for a highly organised, adaptable individual who thrives in a fast‑paced ever‑changing environment. The ideal candidate will be a natural communicator with a positive, proactive attitude, eager to contribute to the growth of the company and be part of our winning team. Experience in HGV transport route planning is essential, ideally with knowledge of abnormal loads and driver hours.
